East Cobb is a great place to live! Great schools, community activities, close to Metro Atlanta, and lots of Swim Tennis Communities. Buying a home in a Swim Tennis Community in East Cobb is one of the best investments your family could make. Having access to a pool and tennis amenities opens up many opportunities for your family to meet fellow neighbors, community leaders, and to attend social events. Links below are two awesome swim and tennis subdivisions in East Cobb—Hampton Farms and Hampton Woods.

Hampton Farms:

The land was bought by George Coates, Sr. in 1947. He purchased 80 acres of land which is known today as Riverhill, River Park and Hampton Farms. The property was sold in 1971, and construction started. There are 325 residents in this community, an active Board and HOA. The social coordinators are volunteers and plan all the community activities. During the month of June the Hampton Farms Hurricanes practice their strokes and compete with against other local subdivisions. The children love being part of their neighborhood swim team and the teenagers love it, too. This is one of the best benefits of being in a Swim Tennis Community. Halloween is the best event at Hampton Farms. Neighbors spend several months planning before Halloween to make sure this holiday is as memorable as the year past. The Halloween party starts at the clubhouse at 4:00pm with food, drinks and a local DJ. At 6:40pm, 200+ children start walking to collect their candy. Fire pits line the streets and witches-brew is offered as a thirst quencher. Having tennis courts in your community is another great way to connect with neighbors. Hampton Farms has a mixed doubles team, all women teams, and all men teams. It is a very active tennis community offering all levels of tennis, for the A player to the C player.

Hampton Woods:

In 1980, 70 acres were sold to Bill Merritt to develop what would become Hampton Woods. By this time Dickerson Middle School had already been built. One of the many reasons why families love to buy a home in Hampton Woods is because the neighborhood is close to Dickerson Middle School. Their teenager can take a bus ride to middle school which takes about 5 minutes, or if your house is close enough to the school, your teen can walk. This neighborhood has an active Swim Tennis Community offering a kid’s swim team, many social events and multiple tennis teams. There is an active Board and social committee. Hampton Woods is also close to shopping centers, places of worship, daycare, and restaurants. The neighborhood is well shaded and the homes are beautiful.
